DOUGLAS LEONG

Age: 22 y/o Height: 172cm Weight: 63kg

Douglas is currently pursuing an Undergraduate Degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) at NUS.

He lives on campus, and engages actively in his residential college’s sports activities such as swimming and frisbee. Fortunately, he has been able to stave off the curse of the “freshman fifteen” (ie. gaining 15kg in his freshman year from countless suppers and a sedentary student life of studying) by keeping fit with 4-5 weekly gym sessions.

On top of sports, Douglas enjoys going for pole dance training at an external studio and has a passion for what some might consider an unconventional dance form, especially for guys. It can be exhausting, and sometimes he leaves class with bruises, but he finds the feeling of training hard and seeing gradual improvements from his own efforts extremely meaningful and worthwhile. It is what keeps him going back for more. Initially, his parents were quite averse to the idea of him attending pole dance classes because they were quite conservative and thought that it was too sexually provocative and only for girls. They slowly became more accepting over time when he showed them how pole dance was also an athletically demanding and beautiful art form. Pole dance is something Douglas hopes the rest of Singapore will eventually come to appreciate too, but in the meantime, its practice, practice, practice for him.

Public policy and advocacy is an area in which Douglas cares deeply about and intends to pursue in his future career. He would like to see a more inclusive, compassionate and diverse Singapore which he believes is key to building a sustainable future for the nation, especially if it means looking out for marginalised communities that may be left behind.

MUHAMMAD ANDY BIN NOOR AZMI

Age: 24 y/o Height: 176cm Weight: 63kg

A man is only as tough as the things he endures. Andy grew up facing adversity straight in its face as he came from a complicated family background. He has only recently reunited with his biological mother.

It was challenging and he had a rough time growing up .He was emotionally underdeveloped, resulting in him constantly seeking for approval and love from places away from home. It didn’t matter if the form of love was incomparable to the amount that he had provided. He came to realise that each person has a different form of love that can never be reciprocated with one’s own personal expectations.

Facing countless struggles and forced into a repeated cycle of disappointments and failures only acted as a catalyst to spur Andy’s determination to push through and break the cycle of endless suffering.

At the tender age of 16, he proceeded to prove to himself that he could be independent and took up a part time job to support his daily expenses.

Andy had discovered a passion with specialty coffee which defines him as a person today. He managed to climb the ladder and has risen to a managerial role. With this new position, not only was he able to make a change in peoples’ lives, he also has the opportunity to nurture others who are in need of the support he was deprived of when he was young. His commandeering presence was a combination of years of suffering and hard work!

Andy aspires to further his education. He is determined to pursue his Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. With his sights set on imparting his experiences to those in need of an inspiration to break the cycle of constant pain and anguish. He dreams of ensuring those in need, that giving up should never be an option and that tough times are life’s means of shaping you as a person. The challenges you face will mould you and develop you into a stronger person.

Andy will forever live up to his mantra, “tough times never last, but tough people do”.

JONATHAN LUKE

Age: 25 y/o Height: 175cm Weight: 69kg

His friends call him “Jon”.

Jon is someone who loves to juggle many different things at one time. Currently, he has his own production company called the ""TheTakoyakis"", working as a freelance actor and webcast engineer. The reason why he works hard in many areas is because he firmly believes that success is determined by the number of people he has impacted.

Growing up, he grew up being the ""ugly"" kid that was often bullied. Hence, till date

Jonathan is still on his path of self-improvement to build on his inner self-confidence.

Joining Mr World 2020 is a way of breakthrough for Jonathan as he hopes that this experience will allow him to grow better as a human and to show others that he is no longer the ugly depressed Jon he once was.

CHEW ENWEI

Age: 24 y/o Height: 177cm Weight: 77kg

Enwei’s favourite quote is from the movie Hercules, “A true hero isn't measured by the size of his strength, but by the strength of his heart."" Beyond his gentle character is a man adept in martial arts, specializing in

Japanese Ju-Jitsu and Judo. A seasoned martial artist, competing from the tender age of 12 and setting foot

on the international stage by 16, he loves challenging and pushing himself to do better, and hopes that by picking up martial arts, he can protect the weak. One personal rule that he believes and abides by is to never hit a girl. Despite being an East Asian Games Medalist and the National Representative at the International

Ju-Jitsu World Ranking, Enwei remains humble and down-to-earth, while constantly seeking self-improvement.

During his free time, he enjoys a wide array of interests including acting, modelling, and designing.

Additionally, he devotes his time to stuntman roles at Mediacorp. He is a man big on movies – Cinema or

Netflix – he appreciates all genres and forms of movies.

After completing his studies on Industrial Design at the National University of Singapore, he now devotes his heart to Product and Interior Design, where his good eye for details makes him stand out above the rest of his peers.

Being the dare-devil he is – he made an independent trip to Japan as a teen and faced adversity during a dangerous solo mountain climbing expedition. Crazy endeavour storytime – Enwei was stuck on the summit of the Okutama Mountain for an entire day after he slid down a slippery slope. He braved through frostbites,

severe weather and climate conditions, and managed to find his way out on his own after following a river and navigating himself back to civilisation without needing the help of modern-day technological devices.

WONG WEI JIE

Age: 26 y/o Height: 183cm Weight: 71kg

Back when Wei Jie was in secondary school days, his BMI was nearly 16.5 - considered to be really low in the BMI range.

As such, he decided to give up his full time hobby of internet gaming to train up his body. The journey was extremely tough as a gym trainer once told Wei Jie that his upper body strength was below average during his first few gym sessions. But he never gave up, even till today.

Wei Jie started out as a swimmer at the age of 7 and has been attending swimming lessons at Tanah Merah Country Club. He has won many medals in the freestyle and breaststroke categories during the club’s annual swimming gala events, and even had the chance to train together with Joseph Schooling during the early days. From there, he continued to join canoeing by representing TPJC in the National Junior Canoe Championship & National Interschool Canoe Championship, and ventured into swimming and water polo in his university days due to his interest in water sports.

Wei Jie loves to eat healthy and always has at least a serving of meat and vegetables at every meal.

He claims that he still loves his fried, sweet and savoury food once in a while but believes that balance and moderation in his diets is key to being healthy.

Wei Jie exercises approximately thrice per week even after having a full-time career in an IT consulting firm. His goal is to stay strong, fit and healthy no matter how hectic life can be and joining Mr World Singapore 2020 is the best way to inspire everyone with his fitness success story.

GABRIEL LIM

Age: 26 y/o Height: 172cm Weight: 65kg

The decision to enter the engineering industry was a natural one for Gabriel. A socially awkward turtle by nature, Gabriel grew up being that weird kid in class watching anime and avoiding eye contact during conversations. Never feeling at home in social situations, coupled with his disposition towards Math and Physics in Secondary School, he went on to study Aerospace Engineering in Polytechnic and eventually graduated from Singapore Institute of Technology with a Degree in Mechatronics.

In between his educational journey however, Gabriel was posted to the police force to serve his

National Service and was forced to step out of his comfort zone to communicate with strangers in order to manage situations and deescalate conflicts. Furthermore, in the final year of his degree he decided to make the bold leap to join Manhunt 2017 and step into the limelight, further forcing himself to engage with the media and public. Coupled with his short stint of driving Grab (and being forced to make small talk with passengers [the horror!]) after graduation, Gabriel has slowly but surely been stepping out of his shell to becoming the confident and self-assured man that he aspires to be.

In the meantime though, Gabriel is working as an engineer in an aerospace company where crunching numbers take precedence over liaising with clients, and where problem solving rather than personal relations is king. It is as close to home as it can get. Still, don’t hesitate to approach him to strike up a conversation though, he may start off a little shy but you’d be surprised at the kind of nonsensical conversations that arise!

DAVE HONG MING HAU

Age: 28 y/o Height: 176cm Weight: 75kg

Currently working as a banking associate. Dave is currently developing a series

of athletic training programs that will one day hopefully be used as the basis of training for aspiring athletes and professional athletes worldwide.

His ultimate goal is to boost the profiles of Asian athletes and to promote an equal representation of Asian athleticism across all areas of sports, including professional leagues. He joined Mr World Singapore 2020 to break through his own shy nature, and to meet like-minded individuals, equally passionate about fitness.

MUHAMMAD RABANI BIN ABDUL AZIZ

Age: 27 y/o Height: 168cm Weight: 67kg

At the age of 17, Rabani was enrolled into Republic Polytechnic and picked up Dragonboat as a sport and extra-curricular activity. That was the spark to a life changing experience. From Dragonboat, he was introduced to working out in the gym since both sports are correlated as Dragonboat requires strength and endurance, as does working out at the gym.

Since then, Rabani read up more on fitness and ventured into the fitness industry. At the age of 23, he embarked on a career as a personal trainer to help individuals achieve their goals and at the same time gather more knowledge on the job. To further upgrade himself, he took up Physique War in 2018 and although he was not the champion, emerging 5th has made him more determined to work harder and make a better comeback - hopefully in 2021 when the pandemic situation abates.

Rabani is consumed with desire to continuously upgrade himself and to be a better version each day.

This drive causes him to read up voraciously on fitness theories to stay relevant. He also continuously tries different training styles to experiment on which styles best fit his body.

Rabani hopes he is able to inspire everyone that self growth is important and victory is possible for the person who never stops fighting. Always trust the process even if the progress takes time. Hard work will always pay off because nobody ever drowns in their own sweat.

JEFFEREY CHONG MUN PENG

Age: 25 y/o Height: 165cm Weight: 59kg

Jefferey was born on October 10, 1994. In Chinese there is an idiom, “十全十美” which implies that children born on the 10th of October were born to be perfect. He doesn’t think he is perfect though.

Jefferey is very much an introvert and he doesn’t really like to talk in front of people. But for those people that he is close to, he can be very active and funny. Not a typical beauty pageant candidate at all.

Jefferey was born in a small family in Perak, Malaysia. Starting from primary school, he already knew that he loves badminton very much. Growing up, Malaysian badminton superstar Lee Chong Wei was a role model. His stories inspired young Jefferey, and he believed that even if takes time, if he continues to work hard, one day he would be successful like Lee! In secondary school, he picked up Tang Soo

Do, which is a martial art, because it channels in him a lot of confidence and passion. He recalls that in one of the championships, where no one believed he would, he won a Gold medal and a Silver medal.

Besides sports, Jefferey also loves music. He has always wished to learn how to play the piano and guitar, but could never afford to, given his family’s financial abilities. He didn’t dare to tell his parents even though he would have meant the world to him to learn music.

Jefferey has decided that he doesn’t want to be hole himself up anymore and wishes to explore the myriad possibilities available in the big wide world, if you just really want to do it.

BAO KAIWEN

Age: 22 y/o Height: 187cm Weight: 85kg

Kaiwen is currently a 2nd year student in NUS Business School.

Ever since childhood, Kaiwen grew up being obese which led to serious self image issues. This changed during Secondary 3, when one of his childhood friends suggested that he pick up running with him every night without fail.

Motivated by his friend's willingness to help him with his weight loss journey, he eventually managed to fit into the normal weight category.

However, due to inadequate knowledge on diet and training, Kaiwen ended up having a 'skinny-fat' physique, and was determined to change that by heavily researching on bodybuilding and the mechanism behind achieving a better physique. Over the course of half a decade, he finally understood the fundamentals behind a diet and training programme, and has since vastly changed his body. This came with plenty of setbacks, given the vast amount of poor information online, coupled with disruptions during National Service, but his determination to achieve progress would not be faltered. After all, bodybuilding will never have an end-goal, it is the constant strive for excellence that makes the sport worth pursuing.

In his spare time, Kaiwen enjoys playing the piano, singing and cooking. Being in a single mother household, with him being the only son, he has the utmost respect for the woman who raised him to where he is today, providing for his education and living necessities.

For his dreams, Kaiwen hopes to first secure a job in the consultancy industry, as he loves interacting and solving problems for potential clients. At the same time, he also hopes to inspire and teach people how to attain their body goals using social media.

NICHOLAS NG YU HENG

Age: 24 y/o Height: 178cm Weight: 77kg

Nicknamed “Sotong” while growing up, Nicholas was a kid engrossed in books and oblivious to people around him. He enjoyed books about science and dreamt about mysterious physical phenomena. He also memorised Pi up to 150 digits, which he claims are still stuck in his head. He assures you he can still regurgitate it today, but can’t assure that you won’t be bored to tears. At 12, he read Stephen Hawking’s “A Brief History of Time” and promised himself that he would study Physics in university, which he eventually did.

Along the way, Nicholas took a keen interest in developing his physique. Being stuck in his own world most of the time, he realised he needed to relate to people, and figured building a decent physique would allow him to communicate with others better. He began scouring “Men’s Health” magazines at 16 to look for inspiration in pursuing a 6-pack. Born and raised as a Christian, he was always taught to pray to God in everything he did, but he can only ever remember praying to God for a nice body! Every night, he would ask God to give him nice muscles when he grew up. It is up to you to decide if Nicholas’ prayers have been answered.

Unfortunately, His obsession with his physique very quickly led to an eating disorder. He was always concerned with maintaining his 6-pack and frequently starved himself for it. At 18, obsessing over tracking his food, and frequently avoiding eating out due to fear of unknown calories, he weighed a mere 54 kg. When he did eat out, he struggled with dark thoughts and feelings about his body. He has now overcome all this, but hopes to use Mr World Singapore 2020 as a platform to raise awareness about eating disorders in men.

Having graduated as a Physics major in NUS this year, Nicholas jokes that he is a Physics and Physique double major – which is not far from the truth as he trained at the gym 4-5 times weekly in his university days. On graduation, he had to choose between a career in Physics or a career related to Fitness. He chose the latter and is now a full-time personal trainer and online coach.

Nicholas spends his free time on more artistic pursuits because he felt his childhood was filled with too much left-brain activity while he neglected his right brain. Apart from his physique being (in his own words) his own work of art, he picked up playing the piano two years ago and is now studying for his Grade 5 exam. He also reads philosophy books occasionally, not because he finds them inherently interesting but because he uses them as inspiration when he runs out of topics to talk about when dating.

DAREN LING

Age: 34 y/o Height: 175cm Weight: 69kg

Music is Daren’s life and his passion. Daren started his journey in classical piano at the tender age of 7 years old. After gaining competence in classical music, he moved on to pop and jazz. He has performed piano during performances at charity events.

Daren started his working career as a promising young banker at 25. At the age of

33, he decided to move out to start his own business as a mortgage loan broker.

He was also a part time nightlife entertainment singer, before the pandemic

brough this blossoming career to a sudden and screeching halt.

Daren believes that life is a delicate balance between work and play. He aspires to be a successful entrepreneur, and to grow his own business in future, while using every opportunity he can to continue to explore his music.

TERENCE ONG

Age: 35 y/o Height: 170cm Weight: 65kg

The journey has been a tough one, but Terence Ong would not have had it any other way. Three knee operations before the age of

21 left the one-time promising youth footballer rueing what might have been as he entered national service with his dreams of playing the game he loved in tatters.

The promising ex youth player tried his hand in the banking industry after his enlistment but the lure of the beautiful game proved too much for Terence as he found himself drawn once more to football.

With his knee unable to stand the rigours of the professional game, Terence fell in love with the art of football freestyling. Terence founded the Urban Street Team which is the only recognised pioneering freestyle crews in Singapore.

Their exploits have seen them truly live the football dream having travelled the world, performed at multiple international events like the International Champions Cup, SEA Games and Youth Olympic Games as well as rubbed shoulders with stars such as world cup winner Paul Pogba and Singapore legend Fandi Ahmad.

Success though, did not come easy as Terence struggled to convince friends and family that his football dream would come good.

Gigs were hard to come by in the early days and the lack of stability made Terence question his decision to pursue football full time.

Fuelled by his passion and with a lot of hard work Terence pushed through till he ultimately found success.

Having been through many ups and downs, the then 31 year old decided he wanted to impart his knowledge and belief in hard work to a younger generation and together with world renowned club Sporting CP, Terence helped set up their Singapore academy.

As a role model to kids, Terence also turned his life around wanting to set the best example he could to his students. Through hard work and dedication, the freestyler turned coach changed his lifestyle and (with some difficulty!) diet to be the best inspiration to his kids.

Now 35, the boyish Terence is in the best shape of his life both physically and mentally and having scored many goals on the field, now hopes to help as many people as he can achieve theirs.

GAURAV CHADHA

Age: 37 y/o Height: 178cm Weight: 68kg

"Being male is a matter of birth, being a man is a matter of age, being a gentleman is a matter of choice”

Since his early childhood days, Gaurav has lived with the belief that every life matters. He is always full of life and smiles. As part of his growing up days, he was a national school level basketball player that taught him success is not final and failure is not fatal, it’s the courage to continue that counts that drives him even today as he leads a business division for a multinational printing company across Asia Pacific market.

He is of the opinion that giving back and contributing to society is important and as a member of DEAN (Delhi Environment Action Network) he worked with a group of young environmentalists to be part of tiger census across India. From educating people about the importance of the environment to living in the jungle to walking tiger trails led him to be shortlisted for the ‘Duke of Edinburg’ award. Counting tigers was one but battling his fears of the unknown was another. Making plaster casts of tiger pugmarks was surreal.

An avid reader of books, Gaurav has read close to 200+ books and has a mini library of his own at his home. He believes reading is to mind what exercise is to body and he never forgets to train either. Having failed a greater number of times than he has succeeded in life he feels it is the attitude and mindset that matters.

In his free time, he loves to play cricket, basketball and watch movies but what stands out more is his culinary skills.

His love for food has made him travel and explore different countries thereby getting to know himself better and secretly desires to be a host for a travel show.

One of his long-term goals is to be able to provide a platform for equal opportunities for oppressed classes.

MARCO MARCUS

Age: 32 y/o Height: 174cm Weight: 73kg

If there is one word that encapsulates Marco Marcus, it would be Passion.

Music has always been in Marco’s blood from an early age of 5. He started performing publicly at the age of

Marco joined the drama club in his primary school days and performed in a musical as a lead actor and singer in NUSCC. In his secondary school days, he was still very active in drama club and choir, performing at all the major events and theatres around the country.

Throughout his polytechnic and even university days, music has always been at the very core of Marco’s life, performing in public at every chance he gets. Graduating from Lasalle in 2021 with a Bachelor of Music Performance, Marco is now an accomplished singer-songwriter, producer and video maker having two highly acclaimed albums under his name.

His songs have garnered a total number of 156,000 streams and more than 1000 followers as of today on

Spotify alone! His YouTube channel also boasts tens of thousands of views combined.

He was also previously signed to Warner Music Indonesia for several years when he was back in his native

Indonesia.

Currently seeking new management and a good record label for his catalogue of music, Marco is always focused with his eye on the goal - that is to become the best in the world, one step at a time. Apart from music, Marco also acts and models for TV and commercials which are his second and third passions respectively.

KEVIN TOH WEI CHUN

Age: 32 y/o Height: 170cm Weight: 72kg

Kevin is 32 this year and has completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering in

Malaysia.

He is an introvert. So, his main purpose for joining this competition is to hopefully develop into a more outgoing and extroverted person.

Having lived in Singapore for 7 years and currently a Singapore PR, Kevin started his fitness journey only after moving to Singapore. He gained his knowledge about fitness through

Youtube, social media and also by reading the personal blogs of professional bodybuilders.

He spends most of his free time in the gym and working out has already become his daily routine.

He never feels satisfied with his physique and always sets different targets and goals to achieve every year. 2 years ago, he was invited for a sharing session/ interview with a

Singapore reporter about his fitness journey. He felt extremely proud of himself when he saw himself on the newspaper.

He will continue pursuing his fitness journey and will keep challenging himself to improve not only his physique but also to be a better person.

IGOR FERREIRA ALVES

Age: 35 y/o Height: 185cm Weight: 87kg

Igor started playing football at 8 years old, moving from playing on the streets of his neighbourhood to playing in junior teams across

Brazil.

Being Brazilian you could assume that football is in his blood, but to succeed you need a level of competitiveness and a strong work ethic. When Igor was 16, he started playing football professionally. When you say “professional footballer” it may conjure up an image of money, fame and fortune, when in reality in the lower divisions this means, time, dedication and a lot of personal sacrifice.

Leaving home at 16 was tough, but with the support of his family and friends, Igor has made football a career, and went on to play in

6 countries across 4 continents. Igor remembers playing football in Spain and spending his final savings on a flight to Sweden which was a huge risk but thankfully resulted him earning enough money to progress his career.

Football brought Igor to Singapore over 6 years ago and he is proud to have the opportunity to live in such a progressive country. A country that is a complete contrast to his native Brazil, but a country Igor relates to as constantly striving to be forward looking and achieving the best for its citizens and residents.

Igor now trains junior footballers and through his job as a coach he is committed to developing others who share the passion for football and fitness that he does.

In addition to being focussed on developing youngsters in Singapore. Igor is also keen to develop himself further and in addition to being fluent in three languages, and holding an IT Diploma Igor is also studying for a degree in Business Administration.

Igor’s philosophy is to focus on being the best person that you can be and make the most of the opportunities life presents you.

Through the competition Igor wants to demonstrate the importance of being fit and healthy. Most people would like to be richer or have more material possessions, but your health really is the most important thing and with a healthy body and mind, you can achieve whatever you aspire to be in life.

LINUS LEE

Age: 62 y/o Height: 179cm Weight: 75kg

During his 20s to 40s, Linus had spent quite a bit of his time in social service. Those were the moments that he had put aside his personal interests to care for others. When he reached his early 50s, he felt that perhaps it was time to pursue his own dreams, whilst at the same time still giving back to society.

As a kid, Linus had loved to sing and had always hoped that there would be a day he could sing to a big audience. His wish came true. In 2011, there came along a national TV Singing competition for seniors on Mediacorp’s Channel 8 (黄金年华之斗歌竞艺第一系列). He plucked up his courage and went for it. Thank God, he emerged as Season’s 1 Champion. Through that, he came to know some fellow contestants of whom, one in particular (Kristine Kam, a Pageant queen) strongly encouraged him to compete in Senior Manhunt 2014. Not knowing what on earth pageants were about, he signed up. He was then 56 yrs old and was the oldest contestant in that male pageant’s history. Much to his delight, he came in as 2nd runner-up plus Mr Fabulous Tan (indoor tanning) & Mr Kickstart (male supplements). It was a wonderful & unforgettable experience.

In 2015, together with 9 other senior Goldenage contestants, he was invited to participate in Malaysia’s Astro AEC renowned Classic Golden Melody 2015

Singing Competition (Astro ARC 经典名曲歌唱大赛2015). He emerged as one of the top 8 finalists. This earned him unexpected regional fame which he is very grateful for. It came with a big bonus of more than 3,500 Malaysian fans on his social media.

On the side, he is also thankful that he has had the privilege to continue serving & supporting 3 sizable charitable organizations in Singapore. He truly believes that it is more blessed to give than to receive.

This year, with no intention to take part in any competition, and preparing for his job retirement due in mid-2020, he joined Mr World Singapore 2020, thanks to a good friend who strongly encouraged him. As the oldest contestant, he didn’t have much faith that he would do well. Much to his surprise, he was short-listed as one of the 24 finalists.

With all the blessings that he has gained, he is bringing in 2 major elements into Mr World 2020:

First and foremost, he would like the world to know that “Age is never a limit”. As we age, we can still live life to the fullest, we can still chase our dreams, we can still contribute to the world, to our society. As long as you’re on earth, you’re never useless.

Next, he hopes that everyone can show a little kindness to someone near us like how God loves us. There’s just too much of negativity and bitterness in our world today. We all need love, we all need help, we all need one another, we all need to be kind to each other. Let’s “Try a little kindness” too.

JERRY NG KE MING

Age: 33 y/o Height: 178cm Weight: 73kg

Jerry almost gave up on his Mr World 2020 journey when he was diagnosed with appendicitis around his colon in early July this year. The doctors at SGH had suggested that he stop his workouts in the gym for a couple of months till he regains full recovery. But through his sheer determination and positivity, he persevered and recovered within the shortest period of time, and by mid-August, he was able to continue his quest for Mr World finals.

By his looks, Jerry can be easily mistaken as a Japanese or Korean due to his features. But his typical Singlish accent is a dead giveaway to everyone who meets him. He is friendly, witty and warm, hence he gets along well with anyone in work and leisure. Jerry exudes an aura of positive energy in everywhere he goes, uplifting the energy of anyone when required.

Since his schooldays, he has never been an achiever in his academics from Primary, Secondary, Polytechnic to University days. He barely scraped through every semester as he was not someone well performing in theory but rather on practical lessons. He has diplomas in Telecommunication and Business Management and as well as a degree in Economics & Finance.

From his goals to become a successful entrepreneur, Jerry aspires to build a start-up empire within the tech industry in times where Facebook, Amazon, Alibaba and Microsoft are thriving. YOLO is also part of his motto as someone who should try to experience as many things as possible in one’s life as he wouldn’t want to live with any regrets for those missed opportunities passed. On that point, he is still single.

IMRAN NEDUNCHELIAN

Age: 31 y/o Height: 186cm Weight: 92kg

Imran is currently working as a Full-time Personal Trainer.

He enjoys working out and is dedicated to push his limits to achieve his best physique and fitness level. He is training twice a day just for Mr World Singapore 2020 to bring his best to the stage and also working towards completing Ironman 70.3 next year.

In his illustrious career, Imran was also named Cleo’s Most Eligible Bachelor in 2016. After winning the competition he was very lucky to come across many connections which led him to produce a full-length feature film in Malaysia which is planned to be released in theatres in 2021 in Malaysia, Singapore and other countries playing Tamil movies.

The past few years has not been easy for Imran. He is a very experienced Fitness Instructor but he had zero experience when he took his leap into movie making. He wasn’t ready for what was to come financially and he had very basic business knowledge. He is very driven and hardworking so he completed the movie project but fell into deep depression. He lost his job; he was even living on the streets for nearly 2 weeks and was living day to day for a few years.

Imran is very dedicated in what he sets his eye on and currently he is working on setting up gyms and also to produce more movies. Imran hopes through the competition he comes across like-minded individuals who wants to build themselves up and motivate one another to reach many milestones together.

As a Personal Trainer, Imran has transformed 100s of individuals to reach their fitness goals over the past 11 years and he is working to continuously help many more reach theirs. In his spare time, Imran likes to swim, watch videos on different cuisines for his meal preps and meet up with his friends for drinks.

MARIO CHUA TZE HON

Age: 30 y/o Height: 186cm Weight: 80kg

Mario spent 2 years in the finance industry after graduating from university.

Having a passion for fitness, Mario decided to step out of his comfort zone and pursue his career in fitness so that he may learn more about the field and help people around me who are lost in their own fitness journeys. It gives him great satisfaction to see people around him consistently improving in their wellbeing.

He also loves music and is self-taught in guitar and piano. He also enjoys composing and playing instrumentals.

Over and above, Mario loves travelling and is driven to seek out scenic sights and enjoys the therapeutic feeling of being lost in nature.

SAMUEL GALLO

Age: 29 y/o Height: 180cm Weight: 81kg

Sam Gallo was born in Florence, Italy.

He has had a great passion for travelling since his parents brought him along on short holiday trips around the world. But Sam always thought that the time spent during holidays was too short and promised himself that once he finished his studies he would go for a long solo trip.

So he went around Australia for over a year and then explored South East Asia for eight months as a backpacker. Tired after this endless trip and without a proper place to stay and settle down,

Sam decided to accept his dream job offer in Singapore - a city that, more than any other city/country he visited, gave him the feeling to be perfect for living, as his warm personality, nurtured by the Italian sun, finds itself easily fitting into sunny Singapore.

For more than five years now, he has been in the city that he now can call his second home, and co-founded a personal training company to help people to achieve their dream body shape through sustainable training and diet.

Sam’s great passions include the beach, football and, as he is Italian, pizza. Naturally, he also loves to cook real Italian pasta.

""Live longer, Live stronger"" is Sam’s philosophy, as he looks forward to living life to the fullest and putting smiles on the faces of those around him.

FAIRUL EDHAM HIRDAYAT BIN DAHLAN

Age: 33 y/o Height: 169cm Weight: 58kg

Since a young age, Fairul was exposed to all forms of art. His mother, an artist and his late dad, a singer, made Fairul a very curious boy who has always loved art. He draws and paints and creates toys out of random things only because he just wants to use his creativity. Needless to say, Fairul was “colourful” since young.

He didn’t stop there. Because his late dad also exposed him to music, Fairul was in the band since primary school. Fairul stayed and pursued his musical talent even after he graduated from secondary school. He was also the school’s band major. But, he didn’t stop there.

When Fairul was 14, he was exposed to cheerleading and it sparked an interest in him. He started learning about it through books that he found at the library. He was determined to venture into this sport. When he discovered that he had a flare for it, Fairul got himself certified to coach and also judge. Fairul has since represented Singapore as a competitor and as a judge locally and internationally. He has been doing cheerleading since 2002 and has since won a lot of titles under his belt.

Nope. He didn’t stop there either. While he was enlisted in the army, Fairul learned about the music and drama company. He decided to audition for a spot even though he had no prior dancing, singing, acting or hosting experience. To his surprise, he made it and he got into SAF MDC. This is where Fairul got exposed to even a lot more aspects of performance. He had to learn how to dance, sing, act and host. But it was because of this experience in MDC, Fairul knew, he loved being on stage performing. This was also the reason why, Fairul decided to pursue being a drag queen.

2 years ago, Fairul was inducted into House of miss Joaquim. Mentored by his drag mother Vanda miss Joaquim, Fairul’s alter ego

farrah shamrock, was born. Farrah joined her first ever lipsync competition and won. This then catapulted Farrah’s drag career. Fairul found his stage and has been working on his craft ever since.

Fairul believes that he can achieve anything he wants so Long as he sets his mind to it. Today, Fairul wants to be the voice for people of the LGBTQIA+ community. He believes that he can use the Mr World Singapore platform to let the voices of the unheard be heard.
