This Privacy Policy for Notora Books (“Notora Books”, the “App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) explains how and why we collect, store, use, disclose, and otherwise process information when you use the Notora Books Android or iOS app, visit related pages at https://xctuality.com/, contact support, or otherwise interact with our services.

1. Scope of this Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to Notora Books on Android and iOS, including app features used to browse, purchase, unlock, download, read, or manage digital books and related content. It also applies to support, account, and informational pages related to Notora Books that link to this Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites, app stores, payment providers, external login providers, publishers, or other services that we do not own or control. Their own privacy policies apply when you use their services.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide to us

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you create an account, use the App, make a purchase, contact support, or interact with Notora Books. This may include:

• Name, username, email address, and password or authentication credentials.
• Account profile information, such as profile picture or display name, if supported by the App.
• Institution, class, course, publisher, or organization information, where relevant to your access to specific books or materials.
• Book library information, including books you purchase, unlock, download, open, bookmark, or save.
• Reading-related activity, such as last-read page, reading progress, bookmarks, highlights, annotations, saved notes, and reader preferences, where these features are available.

Information collected automatically

When you use Notora Books, we may automatically collect technical and usage information. This information may not directly identify you, but it may be linked to your account or device. It may include:

• Device information, such as device model, operating system version, app version, device identifiers, language settings, time zone, and mobile network information.
• Log and usage data, such as app screens viewed, buttons tapped, books opened, session times, referring URLs, feature usage, and diagnostic events.
• Crash reports, performance data, error logs, and debugging information.
• Approximate location inferred from IP address or app store region. We do not require precise GPS location for normal reading functionality unless a specific feature clearly asks for it.
• Security information, such as login timestamps, IP address, device fingerprint, token status, and suspicious activity indicators used to protect accounts and content access.

Sensitive information

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information, such as health information, biometric information, precise location, race or ethnicity, religious beliefs, political opinions, or government identification numbers. Please do not include sensitive personal information in support messages or user-generated content unless it is necessary for your request.

3. Mobile App Permissions

Depending on the features you use, Notora Books may request access to certain device permissions. You can manage these permissions through your Android or iOS device settings.

Purchases, subscriptions, or in-app purchases in Notora Books may be processed by Apple App Store, Google Play, Stripe, or other payment providers. We do not collect or store your full payment card number, card security code, or full app store payment credentials.

We may receive limited purchase-related information required to provide the App and maintain your access, such as:

• Transaction identifiers, receipt identifiers, order identifiers, or app store receipt validation results.
• Purchased book, plan, bundle, class, course, or subscription information.

Notora Books is not intended for children under the minimum age required by applicable law to create an account or use online services without parental or guardian consent. If the App is used in an educational setting, access for younger users should be managed by the relevant parent, guardian, school, institution, or authorized organization as required by applicable law.

If you request account deletion, we will deactivate or delete your account and personal information from active systems, subject to legal, security, accounting, dispute-resolution, fraud-prevention, backup, and legitimate business requirements. Deleting your account may remove access to your library, purchases, subscriptions, notes, bookmarks, and other App data.

Where Android or iOS account deletion links are required by the relevant app store, we will provide a process or support contact to submit the deletion request.

16. Do-Not-Track Controls

Some web browsers and mobile systems include Do-Not-Track signals or similar settings. There is no uniform standard for recognizing or responding to these signals. As a result, we do not currently respond to Do-Not-Track signals. If a standard is adopted that we are required to follow, we will update this Privacy Policy accordingly.

17. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by a new “Last updated” date and will be effective when it is made available.
